Weekend Song-Pick

It is a very fine Saturday afternoon. I am at the office with my moss-green shorts and black t-shirt listening to some of my favorite food-for-soul while visiting some useless-knowledge and apparel sites and viewing some items that I’ve been dreaming of to have. These past few days I’ve been listening to some music that really has brought back some memories from behind. The memories could have faded away if I did not listen to these songs. Ok, let me share my afternoon-music-experience.

The first song of this afternoon-pick is Clay Aiken's The Way. This song was frequently requested by one of my best girlfriends when I still proudly said that I am a Radio DJ with Term of References sit-back-and-relax while I am talking to microphone in the studio, play the music and get hourly paid. And let me tell you, it was a fun-well-paid job.

When my best friend requested the song for the first time, I realized there was something about this song that has touched me deep inside and I didn’t know what it was. It could be the lyrics, the music or something else. If you hear the lyrics, it’s just a common song lyrics like other songs that tell about love and shit like that. The melody, it’s a strong, catchy and easy-on-the-ear kind. Yeah, I thought I found the x-factor that has made me touched. But then, I recognized it was the singer. Nothing more than the way the singer sings the song that can touch us deep inside. It’s Clay Aiken people. I’m not shame to admit now that he’s one of my favorite singers (should I?).

The second pick goes to Our Lady Peace, a Canadian Band with their hit Somewhere Out There. I have nothing much to comment on this song. Three words, I LOVE IT.

The last pick, guess what, I pick a country song without intending to do so. It is Keith Urban's You’ll Think of Me. He’s one of easy-on-the-eye male creatures on the planet. I watched his performance once on TV at this year 48th Annual Grammy Awards, but did not give serious attention on it. He won best male country vocal performance with his hit You’ll Think of Me. I did not realize the song is in my laptop all these times and also an easy-on-the-ear kind of song, until I do one click and that’s it. I listen to this my-heart-is-broken-but-I-won’t-beg-you-to-stay song. Believe me, that what this song is all about and I recommend this song to those whose heart have just been broken but want to look strong. OUCH!!

Well, that’s it, my song pick of this weekend and I’ve commented on them. I’ve written it!! Yeah, I wrote it, pfffiiuuhhh. You have no idea how hard it is for me to start writing lately. Well, now I just want to have a hot shower and wait for another inspiration to come to light my way and lead me to places namely kindness, beauty and truth. Like Einstein once said, "The ideas that have lighted my way have been kindness, beauty and truth."
